Tiger Woods will not play in next week’s Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
The 144-player field for the event was announced Friday, and Woods was not among the players listed.
There was some thought that Woods would enter after his 2024 debut at the Genesis last month was cut short in the second round due to what was later confirmed to be influenza. He then surfaced last week at the prestigious Seminole pro-member tournament at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida, making his first appearance in the event.
Woods was among four players eligible to take part in the Players who did not commit by Friday’s 5 p.m. deadline. The others were Will Gordon, David Lingmerth and Danny Willett.
