‘Inside Out 2’ teaser trailer: Meet Maya Hawke as Anxiety
The first trailer for Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” teases the arrival of several new emotions as Riley hits puberty — including Anxiety.
With Inside Out 2, Pixar is taking us back inside Riley’s head. And from the looks of the first teaser trailer, things are about to get even more emotional.
The whole gang from the first Inside Out is back: Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith), Fear (now voiced by Tony Hale), Disgust (now voiced by Liza Lapira), and Anger (voiced by Lewis Black). Everything seems to be going swimmingly for them and for Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias), who just turned 13. But when a red alarm bell goes off in Riley’s mind, prompting a construction crew to remodel the emotions’ control center, so they find themselves at a loss as to what’s going on. (Our guess: good old puberty.)
Enter a new emotion: Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke). She’s an orange bundle of nerves — and she’s not alone. “We wanted to make such a good first impression,” she tells Joy and friends. Which other new emotions make up this mysterious “we”? We’ll find out in 2024.
Inside Out 2 is coming to theaters this summer.
