Modern Warfare III players are begging Activision to remove a “literally invisible” cosmetic first introduced in Modern Warfare II that’s plaguing multiplayer matches yet again.
Say what you will about Modern Warfare III—it was developed in a confusing rush, hence why its campaign mostly sucks, and it’s currently the worst-rated Call of Duty game in the franchise’s 20-year history—but god damn, does its multiplayer make me feel like I’m in college again.
Sure, Modern Warfare III, the latest Call of Duty release featuring a brand new single-player story, failed to shake up the format of traditional Call of Duty campaigns. But as I said in our review of the single-player offering, MWIII’s more open-ended levels show some interesting potential, and hint at a more…
We probably agree that “Modern Warfare III” is a bad name for a brand-new Call of Duty game. It doesn’t help that 2011 first-person shooter Modern Warfare 3 is, to this day, a fan-favorite title in the neverending war series, while series reboot Modern Warfare III, which releases officially on November 10, is…
Call of Duty fans’ passions run hot when it comes to the series’ multiplayer maps, which have been the topic of discussion and controversy since United Offensive, the 2004 expansion pack that added multiplayer to the original Call of Duty. With Call of Duty celebrating it’s 20-year anniversary this year, it’s about…
Every week I play a very specific game. No, it’s not Halo (though I do occasionally play that), but the game where I desperately try to manage the storage space on my PC because of video games. Oh and if I go to my PS5, trying to curate a decent list of installed games also runs into problems. Same on Steam Deck. Same…
The Call of Duty franchise has continually set sales records and delivered rock-solid multiplayer experiences, almost single handedly carrying the first-person shooter genre into the modern era. It remains a crucial pillar in the gaming industry, so much so that Sony and Microsoft were fighting over it in the lead-up…
The third entry in the Modern Warfare reboot project ships on November 10. A direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s campaign follows Task Force 141 as they attempt to prevent a global catastrophe. Its single-player campaign promises more open, freeform levels than usual, while…
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, not to be confused with the 2011 game of the same name, doesn’t officially launch until November 10 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. But if you preordered the game you can get early access to the single-player campaign, which contains a total of 15 missions.
‘Call of Duty Modern Warfare III’ is almost here, and it’s causing a stir thanks to its massive download size.
“When is the MW3 release date?” is one of the most popular questions right now, so that must mean one thing: it’s almost time for the annual Call of Duty launch.
On top of that, the game’s ballooning file size is causing more of a ruckus than ever.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III doesn’t properly launch until next week, but since video games are weird, some can technically play it right now.
MW3 officially drops on Nov. 10, but those who have digitally pre-ordered the game have had access to its single-player campaign since Thursday, But when, exactly, can you play the online multiplayer? Here’s how it breaks down in terms of U.S. time zones:
9 p.m. PT on Nov. 9
10 p.m. MT on Nov. 9
11 p.m. CT on Nov. 9
12 a.m. ET on Nov. 10
The east coast always gets a little screwed with these things, huh?
Anyway, you better start pre-loading the game now because its reported file size is apparently north of 200GB on consoles, per IGN. Call of Duty has had this problem for a few years now, partially thanks to the inclusion of the Warzone battle royale mode, but this is as big as it’s ever been. According to the official COD Twitter account, you can blame the new open-world Zombies Mode for this:
It’s worth noting that the “final installation size” will apparently be smaller than that, for whatever that’s worth. The post also mentions that you can uninstall portions of the game you aren’t actively playing, so once you’re done with the campaign, you can toss it aside to save some hard drive space.
Unless you have gigabit internet, go ahead and start that download now. This way, it might actually be done by Nov. 10.
