Giants QB Daniel Jones cleared for return, sources say

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been cleared to return from a neck injury, sources told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Jones was cleared Sunday morning, before backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor‘s rib injury during the Giants’ overtime loss to the New York Jets.

Sources told ESPN last week that Jones and the Giants were eyeing a possible Week 10 return against the Dallas Cowboys. But being cleared for contact would put Jones in line to return a week earlier when the Giants visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Jones has missed the Giants’ past three games since suffering the neck injury against the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 8. Taylor started all of those games in Jones’ place but was replaced by undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito on Sunday after suffering the injury to his rib cage in the second quarter.
