OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT has been down for several users across the globe for the last few hours. Many users have posted about the issue on X and Threads.
ChatGPT has more than 100 million weekly users, according to OpenAI.
On its service status site, OpenAI has flagged this incident as a major outage and said the company has identified the bug and is working on a fix. According to the status tracker, the company first started working on the issue at 12:21 AM PDT on June 4.
There have been a few partial outages for ChatGPT users in the last 30 days. The most notable incident was when users were not able to access web results because of the Bing API outage last month.
