SAVE $59.99: Amazon Prime members can get the PC version of Deathloop for free until Jan. 10 instead of the game’s typical price of $59.99.

Waking up on the beach on an island called Blackreef may sound like an idyllic tropical vacation filled with fruity beverages and bungalow views, but the video game Deathloop has proved this entirely wrong. If you’re intrigued, Amazon Prime members are in for a treat.

Until Jan. 10, Amazon Prime members can get a free copy of the PC version of Deathloop, a first-person-shooter video game developed by the award-winning studio Arkane Lyon. If you’re not already a Prime member, a membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. It comes with benefits like free two-day shipping on Amazon orders, access to the Prime Video library, and exclusive deals like free video games.

With elements that feel like an escape room, Deathloop made Mashable’s list of top 10 video games of 2021, with Mashable Senior Games Reporter Adam Rosenberg saying, “This time-twisting sandbox feels like a mash-up of all the best ideas from developer Arkane, the studio behind the Dishonored series and 2017’s Prey reboot.”

If you didn’t grab the game in 2021, getting it for free in 2023 feels like a great idea.

Deathloop follows main character Colt as he navigates the island on a 24-hour clock. In Rosenberg’s review, he said, “Deathloop is a special experience, and the most perfect video game I’ve encountered in 2021,” adding the game feels reminiscent of an escape room challenge.

During a year with soaring inflation, getting one of Mashable’s favorite video games for free feels like a celebratory win. Pat yourself on the back for navigating the year while helping Colt escape from Blackreef island in Deathloop.
