Asus’s first Copilot laptop is available for pre-order now

PRE-ORDER NOW: Asus is debuting its Vivobook S 15, a powerful laptop loaded with Microsoft’s Copilot AI-assistant. Models with 16GB RAM / 1TB storage start at $1,299.99 and are available for preorder now. Exclusively through Costco, you can find the Vivobook S 15 with 32GB RAM for the same price of $1,299.99. Models will ship as soon as June 18.

Ahead of Microsoft Build 2024, the brand launched a new line of Surface Laptops and Surface Pros that are backed with Copilot, a built-in AI chatbot. So it’s no surprise that other Windows makers are following suit in debuting their Copilot+ PCs. Following the May 20 Microsoft event, Asus launched its first Copilot+ PC, the Vivobook S 15.

At the heart of the Vivobook S 15 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor, the company’s answer to Apple M chips. While we’ve yet to test Snapdragon X Elite-enabled devices like the Vivobook S 15, we’re intrigued by the claims that it can rival Apple’s combination of speed, performance, and battery life.

Mashable Light Speed

In addition to the high-tech processor on the Vivobook S 15, there’s also flashy AI-powered features. Copilot claims to provide better security and speed through tools like automatic dimming and noise cancellation. Copilot offers personalized assistance throughout your workflow with tools like the StoryCube asset management app, which organizes photos and videos.

Despite being jam-packed with glitzy new AI-software, the Asus Vivobook S 15 comes in a slim, portable package. At 3.13 pounds and .58 inches tall, the Vivobook S 15 is bigger than a Macbook Air but smaller than the Macbook Pro. Plus Asus claims it boasts up to 18 hours of battery life, a claim we’ll have to test — we’ve been burned by Windows before.

The Vivobook S 15, starts with 16 GB RAM and 1TB storage for $1,299.99. Offered exclusively through Costco, members can find the Vivobook with 32 GB RAM for the same price — a steal of an upgrade. You can pre-order the Asus Vivobook S 15 now. It’s expected to ship starting June 18.
